Pierre Cardin, born Pietro Costante Cardin (2 July 1922 – 29 December 2020), was a French fashion designer. He is well known for his avant-garde style and Space Age design. He preferred geometric and futuristic shapes and motifs, and he integrated them into his Haute Couture and ready-to-wear line. Cardin was a great friend of SCAD’s president Paula Wallace, and he had built a strong connection with SCAD’s Lacoste, France campus.
