Black Cats Are Not Bad Luck

Illustration

Branding/Visual Identity

The myth about black cats has been around for centuries, and for that very reason, they are the least adopted cat breed in America and most frowned upon when spotted. According to the National Library of Medicine, black cats experience the highest euthanasia and lowest adoption rates of all cats. People think they are related to superstitions, black magic, and pagan holidays - but these lovely creatures are nothing more than sweet, loving pets that deserve to have a good life. Luckily, among younger generations, black cats are becoming more lovable. For the older generations, though, some work still needs to be done for these kitties to receive the love and affection they deserve.

Background

This project aims to turn people’s perceptive of black cats around. With a sassy tone of voice, we call for action through the means of social media and merchandise and work towards giving more black cats a home.
