Branding/Visual Identity

As a creative individual who is beyond interested and heavily involved in human cultures and communities, I find my creative light shining the brightest when I design with a cause, a purpose, and a story. I love to utilize my cultural background and insight as a means to tell captivating visual stories. I work hard on utilizing my creativity to bring people and communities closers and to gain perspective of what life looks like around me.

Background

Throughout the years I have designed posters for cool events, local live music shows, products I love, and so much more. I was able to experiment with different visual styles and techniques when designing, which in turn fuels my creativity. I compiled some of my favorite works into a series. I thrive to continue creating for people who are interesting, communities that need to be heard, events with a good cause, products that aid me in the best way, and more.

Objective

Designing and illustrating digital and physical materials such as posters, flyers, and promotional content.

Approach

Bearshadow is a folk, western, and country music festival located in Highland, North Carolina. They held a poster design contest for their upcoming festival, and I submitted this entry.

Skydiver was a band started by a group of college good friends. They were very active and well-liked in the Savannah music scene and they reached out to me to design a flyer for their last headliner show before parting ways.

Yerba mate is a plant native to South America. When steeped or brewed, it creates a caffeinated beverage called mate. Guayaki’s Yerba Mate is a popular brand in the US that popularized yerba mate, and it has always been my favorite when I want a gentle kick of caffeine, without the anxiety that comes with drinking coffee. I designed a poster with a custom illustration to capture the refreshing feeling after drinking the beverage.

The Fast Company Innovation Festival convenes tech, design, leadership, sustainability, and creativity through leaders for discussions, panels, immersive experiences, and networking. I created promotional posters for three speakers at the 2021 festival - Andrea Aldave, Oriana Wen, and Nora Tobin. All these women are entrepreneurs and leaders in the coffee and donut industry. The typographic design mimics the icing pattern of donuts, and the art commonly seen on lattes.
